Jim McKenzie’s sculpted bust titled, "Tarantino" is a stylized portrait of one of America's most prolific filmmakers, Quentin Tarantino. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Tarantino’s breakthrough film “Reservoir Dogs” which debuted at Sundance Film Festival in 1992, this piece references the amputated ear which was one of the most memorable scenes from the film. The color palette resembles the black and white cinematography used in his later film "Kill Bill Vol 1" and a nod to the golden age of cinema.
